In 16 years, 150,000 visitors have been amazed by the grand floral displays and life-sized gardens at the Festival of Flowers in Mobile, Alabama. The 18th Annual Festival of 2011 promises to be the largest outdoor flower show in the Southeast!

The Festival of Flowers is acknowledged as the premier flower and garden event of the greater Gulf Coast. The Festival takes place during what is perhaps Mobile's prettiest month, with trees leafing out and bloomers displaying their splendor. It is arrayed under tent and sky with over 300,000 square feet of exhibits that enchant, entertain, and educate visitors at this feast for all the senses.

What's New this Year?

Information about the 2011 festival will be posted at a later date. The following details represent the 2010 festival. Floral Couture - Look out Chanel! Area dress boutiques will create one-of-a-kind fashions from fresh floral materials and fabulous fabric. Seeds of Wisdom - Best-loved written works are the focal point of this exhibit! Area book clubs & literary enthusiast will interpret their favorite works through floral displays sure to encourage us all to sit and read. Blooming Cuisine - A complete kitchen is just one piece of this display! Local chefs and food aficionados will share their knowledge on topics ranging from growing and using fresh herbs to food and wine pairing tips.

Photography Contest

The Festival of Flowers promotes an interest in gardening and beautification, and encourages the preservation of the natural beauty that is so much a part of Mobile's heritage, while furthering the health care mission of Providence Hospital. The photography competition emulates those principles and embraces the theme selected for the annual exhibition.
